The inspiration for Mementos came from a visit to Milan where Adrienna viewed an exhibit of architect Aldo Rossi’s multi-disciplinary work spanning furniture, accessories and textiles. His ideology around architecture and memory was a jumping off point for the project. The works are interpretations and celebrations of motifs from Rossi’s work. "I was fascinated by Aldo Rossi's studies of beach cabins and his furniture piece Cabina dell'Elba. To him these intimate buildings represented a minimal dimension of living, an impression of summer (Rossi, A Scientific Autobiography). Repetition of this motif appears throughout his work and is characterized by the iconic geometric stripes." -Adrienna

Mementos was awarded a Juror's Choice Award at the DesignTO Festival in 2023.
